TUINBAZEN: Making the Commons
June 22 and 23, 12- 5 PM
outside of het Glazen Huis, Amstelpark
Zone2Source invited Irene Fortuyn and her foundation KETTER&Co for a yearlong research project in the Amstelpark. Throughout the year 2019 the Amstelpark is a test park for their project Tuinbazen. With various activities they bring the park visitors closer to the park and the people who take care of it. For example, every month they present the maintenance tasks at the entrance of the Amstelpark and together with Zone2Source they organized several afternoons of rose pruning coordinated by the gardeners.
On Saturday June 22 and Sunday June 23, you are welcome to join the Tuinbazen (gardeners) project. You can explore the Amstelpark using the research booklets to focus on your senses, help out the gardeners by removing the finished flowers from the Rhododendron valley at 1:00, 2:00, and 3:00PM each day, and learn more about the Amstelpark by playing the Tuinbazen memory game and much more! These activities are part of the ‘We Make the City’ festival, located all throughout Amsterdam.
