Everything Underground

A Craft Workshop About Underground Life in Amstelpark

Event details:

Date: Thursday 23 July • 10:00 – 12:00

Location: the Glass House

Language: Dutch & English

Led by: Floris Schönfeld

On Thursday July 23rd, Floris Schönfeld led a collaborative craft project centered around the idea of the connection between people and their environment. With an afterschool group of children, Floris began with describing the story of the exhibition as ‘ants playing a computer game’ while the children met the ants and searched for the Queen. Then, Floris invited the kids to go out into the park with the goal of exploring and finding materials for their own sculptures. Some kids chose to work together while others decided to create their own works. Many sculptures came to life by transforming the exhibition space into a studio space. Finally, the individual art works where turned into a collaborative work with the use of electrical wiring which connected each sculpture to another.
