Guided tour Zone2Source #2

Walk with us through het Glazen Huis, artists' gardens and outdoor works

Join us for a guided tour of Amstelpark, where art and ecology come together in unexpected ways. You will explore Zone2Source and our current exhibition, Ecoshroom, in Het Glazen Huis, as well as numerous outdoor artworks and artists’ gardens, all under the guidance of an enthusiastic art expert. Surrounded by the greenery of Amstelpark, you will be inspired by new perspectives on the relation between humans and their environments.

What if plants were the brain of the building?
In Het Glazen Huis, you will explore Ecoshroom V.01, the current exhibition by artist and researcher Ivan Henriques. The installation experiments with the integration of natural and technological systems to promote a more sustainable future. It features a custom-built AI that analyzes and reveals the exchange of nutrients and carbon between mycorrhiza (a type of fungus) and plants. Learn more about Ecoshroom here.

Artist Gardens
The park includes three artist-designed gardens: Otterdam by Theun Karelse, Genomic Gastronomy Garden in the former seal enclosure, and Shadow Garden by De Onkruidenier in the enclosed Belgian Cloister garden. Read more about the artists’ gardens here.

Outdoor works
Finally, the park houses multiple outdoor works such as the Contemplatorium as pictured, and the audio tour Secret Garden. Read all about the outdoor works here.
