Inga community leader Hernando Chindoy will be our guest on 7 November as part of the exhibition “to admit a subtle thread”. He will recount the story of the Inga community of Aponte, Colombia, during a walk that starts at the exhibition in Glazen Huis at 15.00.
The Inga community of Aponte is a community that has been able to restore its social structure through traditional knowledge, despite the context of conflict caused by drug trafficking and the mining industry.
Times:
2:30 p.m. – walk in
3:00 p.m. – walk to the Amstel River from the Glazen Huis
4:00 p.m. – open dialogue with Dr Hernando Chindoy

“I was born in the Andes Mountains, on the border between Colombia and Ecuador, and grew up with fourteen brothers and sisters. The area where I come from is known as the land of volcanoes and is the source of the Putumayo, Caquetá and Patía rivers. The area is connected to the waterways of the Amazon and the Chocó Biogeográfico (Pacific Ocean – ed.).”
