On Sunday, October 31, 2021 we thoroughly enjoyed the 30 types of sambals that could be tasted at the Glazen Huis van Zone2Source. More than 200 visitors visited the tasting and exactly as intended, makers and tasters exchanged stories, recipes and flavors with each other. 18 amateur sambal makers were present with sambals from Indonesia, Suriname, Korea, Japan, Mexico and the Netherlands. From traditional family recipes to fusion hot sauces such as strawberry and squid sambal. This tasting was part of the exhibition Kebun Sejarah by artist Kevin van Braak where the pepper is one of the crops on display.
