Volunteer Coordinator of our exhibition hosts (4-8 hours per week)

Zone2Source, testing site for art and ecology organises exhibitions in the glass pavilion in the Amstelpark. Our exhibitions, open from friday to sunday from 1 – 5 PM, are hosted by volunteers who are are the bridge between our exhibitions and the public. We are looking for a volunteer coordinator who is in charge of making the exhibition schedules and the first contact with our volunteer group. You work closely together with the Zone2Source team.

What will you be doing?

Organising every 2 month shift schedules for hosts of our exhibitions.
Facilitating and guiding volunteers (hosts) through regular contact.
Being the first point of contact during shifts.
Entering the number of visitors to our exhibitions online log file.
Meeting with new volunteers and assisting with our volunteer gatherings (once in 2 months).
Host exhibitions yourself at least once a month.

What are we looking for?

You are good at communicating with a wide variety of people.
You are responsible and can work independently.
you are flexible with time and can work during opening hours of our exhibitions.
You are independent, enthusiastic, patient and proactive.
You are interested in contemporary art and are good at communicating complex artistic projects to our audiences.
We prefer someone who can speak both English and Dutch, at least fluent in one of these languages.

A compensation of €185 per month (max monthly volunteer fee).
You will preferably start on 1 April. After 3 months we will evaluate, the function is for long term.

Host/Hostess (volunteer)

We are seeking volunteers that would like to inform the visitors about our projects and that would like to contribute to a joyful visit of our guests.

Job Description

As a host/hostess you’ll have the following responsibilities:

Receiving and informing guests.
Turn on and off all the equipments (heating, image and sound) .
Distribute exhibition materials.
Maintain visitors tracking log and incidentally holding visitors enquiries.
Responsible for maintaining exhibition area.

Requirements

You are customer service minded, and like working with people.
You have good social and communication skills, and speak English well.
You are willing to work one day a month in the weekend.
You are interested in learning about the exhibitions and have an affinity with art, technology and nature.
