Swamp Walk

Jacqueline Heerema

On Sunday afternoon August 14, you are warmly invited you to join the Swamp Walk about perceptions of time, climate and Land in Wording with artist Jacqueline Heerema. She is fascinated by the way in which natural and man-made forces meet in time, shaping not only a landscape but also perception itself. She wants to further challenge our imagination and create a more sensitive, affectionate worldview. This walk is part of the Our Living Soil exhibition and marks the finissage of Jacqueline’s period as artist-in-residence in the Park Studio Orangerie (juli – mid August, 2022).

The Swamp Walk will start at Land in Wording, via Park Studio De Orangerie to Glazen Huis. On these three remarkable locations at Amstelpark, she will share how – in four years’ time – discovering a subsurface living climate archive slowly transformed in a love story about beauty, versatility, resilience and vulnerability of soil/Earth ítself. While Jacqueline learns to take care of living collections, a dilemma evolves: to what extend you can go for the sake of art or beauty?

Date: Sunday afternoon August 14
Time: 14:00 – 16:00
Location: start at Land in Wording, no. 18 on the map of Amstelpark, Amsterdam:

Tip: bring some water when it is warm or an umbrella when it rains.

Participation is for free, but please register in advance: communicatie@zone2source.net
