Excursion – The Invisible Park – Marjolijn Boterenbrood

Traces
Marjolijn Boterenbrood

In the course of the year 2015, which is dedicated to the soil, Marjolijn Boterenbrood develops the project Sporen, in which she explores the invisible world in both the Amstelpark and the nearby Gijsbrecht van Aemstelpark which takes place below our feet through a series of workshops, expert meetings, dinners, and excursions. The project will culminate in the making of a map which will be presented in the spring of 2016. In the next months Marjolijn will take participants on an excursion through the park to discover underground secrets of these two parks.
Excursion The Invisible Park (1,5 hours)
Sunday December 13 2015, start 12.45 at het Glazen Huis
February 28, 2016 start 13.00 uur at het Glazen Huis
The visible world is only the tip of the iceberg. Science focuses increasingly on invisible processes such as the importance of soil health for growth, funghi for roots of trees, algeas for quality of water and oxygen. During this walk we will together with Marjolijn Boterenrbood and equipped with microscopes, fishing net and shovel experience this unknown world under our feet.
Note: the excursion  in February will also include a walk in the Gijsbrecht van Aemstelpark, in December we stay in the Amstelpark.
Participation is free, reservation required at info@zone2source.net
