Zone2Source will participate on June 1 in the national event Unlocked / Reconnected and will present an astronaut suit in front of the windows of the glass pavilion. Apollo Block 1 A1C is an astronaut suit by Cocky Eek and Johannes Sterk that is part of Mission to the Moon, a performance project that focuses on the reenactment of the Apollo 11 mission and other highlights from the Apollo program.
We choose this work because it asks questions about our current situation: the astronaut suit sets progress ideals of self-fabrication, absolute control and isolation against new ideals of connectedness, entanglement and contamination, which may be more important for survival on the best and as yet only planet we have as earthlings. On June 6, 2020 during the opening of the Moon Gallery Garden exhibition, a new episode of Mission to the Moon will be performed at our location in the Glass House in the Amstelpark.
