Eureka!

in the Beatrixpark: nighttime wonders through performance installations

The Warp

As part of the Shadow Floriade 2022 program (Floriade 1972 took place in both the Amstelpark and the Beatrixpark) our partner organization The Warp (thewarp.org) presents EUREKA! in the Beatrixpark on the first weekend of October, a tour through the dark presenting eight unique works by Joost Rekveld, Matthijs Munnik, Evelina Domnitch and Dmitry Gelfand, Vladimir Grafov, Zalan Szakacs, Daniela De Paulis, Mint Park, BMB con: Justin Bennett & Roelf Toxopeus

Audiences are invited to take a nighttime journey through the park to experience a visual art and science performance side show. This carnival of wonders is inspired by 19th century American writer and poet Edgar Allen Poe’s final work, Eureka! Here Poe revealed incredible ideas such as an expanding universe, the big bang and black holes which he intuited with the immediacy of a walk in the park.

This after dark performance installation is enacted by a collective of ten artists who are well known in the burgeoning field of art science: Joost Rekveld, Matthijs Munnik, Evelina Domnitch and Dmitry Gelfand, Vladimir Grafov, Zalan Szakacs, Daniela De Paulis, Mint Park, and BMB con: Justin Bennett & Roelf Toxopeus.

Meeting Point to experience 8 unique works in the dark

Audiences will assemble at the Meeting Point located at the PARK Kiosk Beatrixpark 1 of Boerenweteringspark at any time between nightfall (from 20:00 hrs) and midnight. Promenades will commence every fifteen minutes during which you will be led on tour to experience eight unique works in the darkness of the park. The entire performance is expected to take eighty minutes. The event is offered free of charge.

A Warp production

This project is organized by The Warp, a platform for multimedia performances that operates mainly in the Kunstkapel and surroundings.
