Open studio: Heather Barnett & Budhaditya Chattopadhyay

Part of School for MultiSpecies Knowledges

Join us for the third gathering of our public series of the School for Multispecies Knowledges. Through participatory, embodied, sensorial activities in the park we will challenge the possibility of tuning into its multispecies communities. Together with artists Heather Barnett and Budhaditya Chattopadhyay we will explore artistic and activist tactics.

The public series invites everyone interested to join experimentations of the program and conversations with its cohort of the School’s participants. The program takes place in the Orangerie in the Amstelpark which is used by Zone2Source as an open Park Studio and now the headquarters of the School, but will be focused on outdoor explorations. Tickets for full day participation including lunch is €15. Registration will be available through Eventbrite as soon as possible.

Program

11.00-11.15 Welcome

Heather will share some recent multispecies encounters from the studio, the lab and the field and invite us to shift perspectives in how we perceive and interact with our surroundings and the many forms of life sharing our habitat.

13.00-14.00 Lunch

14.00-16.30 Budhaditya Chattopadhyay
Budhaditya organises a co-listening workshop series in which participants explore situated affective engagement via plurivocal listening and grounded sound practices contributing to a current social need for solidarity, inter-connectivity, more-than-human and multispecies knowledge and community building. The workshop is built on listening individually as sonic meditation for capacity building, and listening together as practicing social cohesion, empathy, care as well as knowledge exchange.

16.30-17.00 Closure and drinks
